The true magic of the home lies in its material composition, which favors natural, breathable, and earthy elements. Reclaimed pine flooring sets a grounding, warm tone, while an expertly curated palette of terracotta, oak, and teak introduces a grounding "outdoor-in" feel.

The textiles are similarly intentional: linen and abaca, paired with lime-painted finishes, provide a cool, tactile surface that invites the summer light to play across walls. The colour story remains muted and organic - using nuanced tones like Farrow & Ball’s ‘Smoked Trout’ and Paint & Paper Library’s ‘Slate II’ - which creates a soothing, monolithic backdrop that keeps the space feeling airy and temperate, even on the warmest days.

The interior architecture - meticulously designed from scratch by Summer - incorporates bespoke paneling, cornicing, and joinery. This architectural rigor is softened by a collection of pieces that prioritize texture and history:

Summer Lounging: The ‘Foca’ pine daybed by Sasa Works (via The New Craftsmen) acts as the perfect anchor for a sun-filled room, while the Pierre Jeanneret chair and Max Rollitt desk offer a dialogue between mid-century modernism and traditional English design.

Refined Lighting: Porta Romana wall lights provide a gentle, atmospheric glow, perfect for the long, lingering twilight hours of the summer season.

Artistic Depth: The home feels like a curated gallery, punctuated by artwork from Hiroshi Sugimoto, Tom Hatton, and Aythamy Armas, which adds intellectual rigor to the domestic softness.
