Staged at The Bomb Factory, Marylebone, the first of this two part presentation comprises eight monumental paintings and five smaller compositions. Chris Huen Sin-kan’s Episode relives the previous ephemeral moments of his young family’s daily life. He focuses on immortalising mundane fragments of their life; a venture that seeks to breathe magic and adventure back into early morning breakfasts around the kitchen table, daily dog walks and quiet moments shared with his wife.

These painstakingly beautiful paintings transcend time and tense, they mask memory with dream and embrace the abstract and transience of memory as Huen’s delicate brush ebbs and flows between fact and fiction, between figurative and abstract, seeking certainty in spatial and temporal grounds that flicker in and out of registration.
