The Living Room: A Study in Symmetry and Softness
The beating heart of the apartment is a spacious, structured living room, designed as an invitation to contemplation. A central stone fireplace anchors the room, providing a warm, organic grounding for the space. On either side, two vintage tables by Liaigre introduce a rigorous symmetry, softened by the tactile warmth of the room’s finishes. Facing the hearth, a sprawling modular sofa upholstered in ecru fabric stretches along the wide windows, where light linen curtains drape, filtering the day’s glow and muting the contrasts.
The furniture selection is a conscientious exercise in volume and texture. A bold La Mamma armchair by Gaetano Pesce, with its striking striped pattern and spherical ottoman, asserts its sculptural presence, while a gentler seat in faded pink bouclé offers a serene counterpoint. Beneath, dark wood flooring amplifies the depth and intimate character of the room, creating a cocoon-like environment.

The Bar: A Jewel Box for Sound
The apartment’s most distinctive feature is the bar and music corner - a bespoke "jewel box" custom-designed by Katz Studio. Crafted from rich, smoked eucalyptus wood, the facade is defined by vertical battens that introduce a rhythmic visual texture. This dedicated space serves dual roles: a functional mixing station and a sanctuary for a growing collection of vinyl, books, and art. An understated, graphic partition of raw steel frames the area without closing it off, while sculpted wooden stools invite conviviality, turning the act of listening to music into a communal ritual.

Culinary Artistry
In the kitchen, sophistication is achieved through a deliberate contrast of materials. Deep burgundy lacquer elements are paired with smoked eucalyptus facades, while a travertine worktop offers a soft, natural grain that unifies the composition. This interplay of texture and tone extends into the dining room, where a vintage marble table stands reflects timeless craftsmanship, surrounded by the clean, iconic lines of Knoll Tupile chairs.

Design as Dialogue
The dining room functions as an extension of the home’s intimate atmosphere. Artistic elements punctuate the space with character: a vibrant light fixture by Robert Combas injects a unique, kinetic energy, while two rabbit sculptures by Camille Henrot perched on the table create an unexpected, playful dialogue between design and fine art. A framed exhibition poster by Donald Judd serves as a final nod to the studio’s enduring fascination with minimalism and graphic clarity.

A Sanctuary for the Senses
The master bedroom continues this narrative of serenity, featuring custom walnut millinery and the iconic Elda armchair by Joe Colombo - a piece whose white lacquered shell and leather upholstery present a sculptural silhouette against the room’s warm, hushed palette.

Through this project, Katz Studio have crafted a home that embraces both the rhythms of music and the silence of solitude, defined by an understated, timeless elegance meant to endure.
