Completed in 2024, Villa Fortaleza boasts a total area of 4,000 square feet and spans three floors, each offering expansive terraces and meticulously designed landscaping by Jardíssimo, Unipessoal Lda. The villa’s design is driven by the desire to maximize sun exposure and, most importantly, to capture the magnificent sea views from every possible angle. This ambition has resulted in a structure that possesses a striking “dual identity”.

On the north façade, the villa presents a minimalist and pure aesthetic, characterized by a smaller volume and an emphasis on privacy. This side reflects a sense of restraint and quiet elegance, seamlessly blending with the natural surroundings. In contrast, the south façade reveals a more exuberant and complex design. Here, the volumetry expands, showcasing a dynamic interplay of forms that respond to the site’s unique conditions and the desire for panoramic views.

The bi-directional geometry of Villa Fortaleza serves multiple purposes. It not only articulates with the surrounding buildings and optimizes solar orientation but also “breaks up” the volume, creating a strong and light dynamic on the considerable scale of this front. This strategic approach ensures that the villa feels both grand and intimately connected to its environment.

The interior and exterior spaces are thoughtfully designed to maximize the connection with the sea. The living areas are strategically positioned to the south, while the circulation areas are concentrated on the north side. This layout ensures that the primary living spaces are bathed in sunlight and offer unobstructed views, enhancing the overall experience of living in this coastal haven.
